We Are The Victims of Sonabank / Primis Fraud

(Sonabank – dba Southern National Bancorp of Virginia has changed it’s name to Primis Bank)

We are working diligently for justice from this bank and the loan officers who ignore the law, fail to follow the Small Business Administration Standard Operating Procedures, falsify documents, confiscate trademarks and submit false information to federal agencies for payment. We have a moral obligation and duty to warn small business owners in the Virginia, Maryland and District of Columbia areas to avoid Sonabank/Primis. We are working tirelessly with lawmakers and law enforcement to investigate and expose Sonabank / Primis crimes and to make the small business lending industry safer for all American small business owners. Predatory lenders not only destroy small businesses – they destroy families, communities and moreover – the American Dream.

In an effort to escape their reputation and avoid prosecution, Sonabank has changed it’s name to Primis Bank. Please look for our new website coming soon. We are here out of a duty to warn and to save American small businesses from fraud and permanent economic devastation. Small business lenders like Sonabank / Primis Bank simply cannot be exempt from laws, rules and regulations. And changing the name of the bank cannot be the way they escape prosecution.

About Us

Sonabank / Primis Fraud Hurts Everyone

We are small business owners of all ages and backgrounds, with families, who understand the value of hard work, bettering our communities and providing services as well as employment opportunities for community members. We have scrimped, saved and worked tirelessly, only to be defrauded by Sonabank – a bank that quite alarmingly uses the word “power” in their advertising. And yes, they are all powerful. Unlike the rest of us, they enjoy virtually no oversight and have profited from defrauding small business owners. Sonabank has been accused of illegally closing businesses, illegally taking primary residences, illegally taking trademarks and patents, falsifying documents, withholding documents, providing false information to state and federal agencies, and submitting false information to federal agencies for payment. So not only do small business owners, their employees, their families and community members pay for Sonabank crimes, so do taxpayers.

How to Avoid Sonabank / Primis Fraud

Don’t sign any Sonabank / Primis loan documents before having them reviewed by a reputable attorney.

An attorney told one victim that in 30 years of practice, he had never seen loan documents similar to those of Sonabank. There are other lenders who follow the rules – do business with them; not Sonabank.

Don’t allow Sonabank / Primis loan officers into your home.

Loans are collateralized (overcollateralized) with your primary residence – and Sonabank / Primis stands to profit by closing your business as soon as possible and taking your home. Do not let any representative of Sonabank in your home under the pretense of “going over documents” – or for any reason.

Speak up if you are a victim of Sonabank / Primis.

We are here to help and to lobby for increased oversight of small business lenders and to advocate for victims of small lender fraud. As individuals and as a nation, we cannot afford the despair, homelessness, bankruptcies and loss of perfectly viable small businesses caused by predatory lenders such as Sonabank / Primis.
